Patton, Patton, Patton

I haven't had much on here about Patton lately so I figured I had better correct that.

He's up to approximately 94 pounds now though his growth has tapered off significantly. He only gained 1 pound in the last month! I think he's gaining lots of muscle and height so his weight gain can't keep up!

He's also developed some interesting habits (some good, some bad). Every morning after he has breakfast, he races into our room. He is allowed to sleep in our bed while we get ready in the mornings. It's an easy way for us to keep track of him. He curls up in body pillow and snuggles in for a morning nap. If I'm not out of bed when he comes barreling in, he'll lay across me until I get up and out of "his" spot.

He can't wait until we get our last curtain up in our room. The sun streaming in the windows or the light on in the room disturbs him. His remedy? One paw over the eyes.

Some mornings he's just too tired to get up into the bed himself. This is his "I need a boost pose". Left alone, he will climb up but some mornings I'm feeling tired myself so I understand needing a boost and I help him up.

His favorite spot when he was smaller was sitting on our hassock. He still loves to sit on it, but it's getting a little too small for him.

Patton also loves his yard. I wish we had made it bigger for him! He'll run laps around the entire perimeter until he's worn out. Then he'll collapse in our lovely grass/hay/mud.

One of our favorite activities is walk time. Walking around our area is smell heaven for him. All sorts of wildlife for him to track. I also love taking him into town for a walk. The squirrels and birds are captivating for him to watch. He doesn't know what to make of them!

The boy also loves his sunlight (which we haven't seen much of lately). He'll lay anywhere in the living room to catch a few rays. Thankfully we put in lots of windows!

He also loves his grandpa. He has to help him with everything. Dave and Grandpa put in a new screen door for us a couple of weekends ago and the dogs were so unhappy that they were on the front porch without them.

Patton also loves to sit in my lap. If I sit down on the couch, he'll back up until his hind legs and butt are firmly planted in my lap. He truly is a mama's boy and he's loving that I'm home before 9 o'clock at night these days. Unfortunately, my lap is starting to disappear. We'll see what happens when there's a baby in my lap (I've been trying to figure out how to get a baby and a 94 pound dog in my lap at once - any suggestions?).

And, of course, Patton loves playing with Bentley and Winston. They play so hard that they are exhausted by the end of the weekend. Easter weekend must have been tough on them...

Patton also discovered Grandma's chair on Easter weekend. At one point, she was sitting in it and he was pouting because she wouldn't move. Yes, he pouts. It's quite the sight!

So, there you go. Yes, he's getting huge. We are quite popular wherever we go but Dave and I wouldn't give him up for anything!
