At the Lake

Since we actually had a Saturday free (ok, well, partially free), we packed up the family (it's weird saying that) and headed out.  After a quick stop at the vet for some shots for Patton, we headed over to Wagon Train Lake.  The lake is minutes from our house and we've been meaning to check it out for a while but we've been too busy.  Finally, we made it.

Amelia had a great time rolling around in her stroller.  She's still a little small for the stroller but we tuck her in with a blanket and she loves it.

Patton was in doggie heaven.  There were so many smells - he wasn't sure what to do.  He even worked on his rock climbing.

After lunch we headed over to the boat dock.  We've tried to get Patton interested in the water before, but he didn't want anything to do with.  The last time we took her near a lake, he wouldn't even put his feet in the water.

Fortunately, he was all about exploring the water this time.  He walked right in and was fine with it until a plant got wrapped around his foot.  He backed out of the water quickly after that!

He did love walking down the length of the dock so he and Dave went exploring while Amelia and I hung out.

While they were exploring, I took the opportunity to snap a couple of shots of our drooly daughter.  While I was doing this, I heard Dave yell.  I looked up and couldn't believe my eyes.

Patton jumped right off of the dock and into the water!  Dave and I were both shocked!

This is the world's most timid dog who hates water and here he jumps right in!  He loved it and didn't want to get out!

Unfortunately, it was time to head home after we got Patton out of the water.  He had a nice stench to him and we knew he was going to need a bath before Dave went to the Husker football game.

We had a blast at the lake.  We never thought Patton would get near the water, let alone in the water.  We are definitely headed back there this fall!

We did give Patton a bath when we got home.  The poor guy was pooped.  The vet, the lake and a bath were way too much for one day for him!
