New Discoveries

We discovered three new things about Amelia this weekend...

She loves mashed potatoes.  What's better than mashed potatoes?  Licking the beaters.

 She loves a good spot to read.  She always plays with Grandpa's rocking chair when we are in Grand Island so we picked this one up for her at a sale today.  She's in love.  Nicole carried it to the car for me while I pushed Amelia in her stroller.  She cried the entire way to the car because she thought Nicole was stealing her chair.

And the final thing we learned?  Well, we aren't entirely sure.  Usually when she plays with her blocks, she lines up all of the single blocks on the car.  This time she set it up like a crooked checkers board.  Interesting for sure.

To The Zoo!

We took a quick trip to the Lincoln Zoo today.  Amelia (as well as Dave and I) love going to the zoo.

Amelia fell asleep as we drove to the zoo.  We weren't sure if she was going to wake up to enjoy the day!

She did wake up and enjoyed every subsequent minute!

Here she is working on her walking skills and loving the penguins.




She wasn't so sure about this guy.  I set her down next to him while she was looking the other way.  I thought she was going to jump off the rock when she turned around and he was right next to her.  She immediately wanted picked back up!  I set her back down and she warmed up enough to pet him on the head.

This girl loves birds!  She could stand and watch them the entire day.  Dave had to help her with her flamingo stance.

She decided they needed some rocks.  Everyone needs rocks.

We weren't sure if she'd feed the animals.  She loves feeding Patton but these guys are a little aggressive.  She loved every second of it!

I love having a zoo so close.  The Lincoln zoo is so nice and has a great variety of active animals.  The weather was perfect today so all of the animals were out playing.  I'm so glad Amelia loves the zoo!
