7 Months Old!

Our beautiful little girl is now 7 months old!  She had lots of accomplishments this month - it's amazing how fast her brain soaks up information.

She's sitting up unassisted now.  She holds herself up really well, but will occasionally flop backwards as she loves to look over her head and she loses her balance.

She's also working on her crawling.  She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth.  It's a lot of fun to watch!  If you look close at this picture, you can also see her Baa-baa face.  She likes to play and say baa-baa all the time.  It's so cute to hear!

Amelia also started solid foods this month.  She's not so sure about sweet potatoes but likes acorn squash and loves pears!

Of course, she also celebrated her first Christmas.  She was so spoiled!  Hopefully I'll get around to putting up some Christmas photos before her next Christmas!

A Tale of Two Thanksgivings Continued

Seems about right that I would finish the Thanksgiving posts after Christmas.  Who knows when the Christmas ones will get posted!

We had our second Thanksgiving in Hastings at Sam and Tammy's house.  Almost everyone was there and we had a great time!

The last 4 babies in my mom's family have been girls so we had to get a photo of the 3 little girls and 1 big girl.  Samantha was adamant that she was not a little girl.

The weather was beautiful!  You would never have guessed that it was November.  We took our usual walk with the park as our destination.

Allie absolutely loved the slide!

She is so freakin adorable (especially in her striped jacket)!

And the swings!  The girls both love the swings!

The older kids also had fun at the park.  There was even a gladiator type contest.  You wouldn't have known that they were the older kids there!

Both Amelia and Makayla napped on the walk over.  The fresh air was exhausting for them!

Amelia did wake up to check out the swings. The girl is like her mama - she loves the swing!

She got a big push from Uncle Mike!

I think Amelia's first Thanksgivings were a huge success.  She had a great time seeing all of her family and loved every minute of the holiday!

6 Months Old!

Yikes!  Amelia is almost 7 months old and I'm just getting the 6 month photos posted!  The holidays were crazy and kept me busy.

The 6th month was a busy month for Amelia.  She figured out how to roll both ways and was rolling everywhere.

She is also scooting backwards!  Yep, nothing is out of her reach now as long as she can back up to it!

Our daughter also began growling this month.  Yes, growling.  Patton must have been working with her on it (though he never growls).  I'll grab her out of her crib in the morning, tell her good morning, and she growls at me.  I change her diaper and she growls at me.  She growls at her toys, at her dad, and at Patton.  It leaves us laughing so hard!

Amelia also go to celebrate her first Thanksgiving (her mom's favorite holiday)!  She loved having all of the family around.  She is a social butterfly for sure!

Amelia also got to be in a commercial.  She loved it!  Dave knows some people who own a marketing company and they were looking for children to stand in line to see Santa as part of a commercial.  Dave and her are featured quite prominently in the commercial!

The biggest news of the month was....no surgery!  The doctor thought her umbilical cord hernia was healing on its own and the protrusion had shrunk enough that we don't have to worry about surgery now.  She may still have to have it when she's older, maybe 4 or 5, but we'll deal with it then!

Not to be forgotten, Mr. Patton.  This was his spot while we were doing her little photo shoot.  He did not appreciate sharing his couch with her!
